December Foundation News

Your Foundation loves networking!
Your PIHRA Foundation has developed an on-going relationship with the Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCalROC) in Torrance. With key contacts Vikki Westerskov with SoCalROC (D7) and Foundation Board member Jenny Klein, SPHR (D7) working hand-in-hand your Foundation has been able to supply volunteers for interview prep skills and mock interviews.  In one event alone over 60 students benefited from this “dress rehearsal.” One of the SoCalROC instructors commented “The PIHRA volunteers were great mentors!…..Watching the professionals help the students build confidence and better answers was good.”

Is there an organization in your District that would benefit from Foundation volunteers? Would you be interested in volunteering yourself? Contact the PIHRA Foundation to learn more.

Need just one more tax deduction before year-end?

Remember – your PIHRA Foundation is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization. Not only does your contribution benefit the on going efforts of the Foundation – it also serves as a tax deduction. There is still time to make a contribution to your Foundation before the end of the year. You can simply mail your check to the new PIHRA office and make the check out to PIHRA Foundation. Hurry though – the clock is ticking.

Recruiting PIHRA Foundation Chairpersons

If you are curious contact your District Chair or if you would like to review a Volunteer Job Description shoot off an e-mail to: rscottsphr@gmail.com and one will be e-mailed back to you. 2010 will be an exciting year for your Foundation and we can use all the “horsepower” we can get.
