PIHRA Foundation Recognizes 2009 District Financial Support

The PIHRA Foundation gave special recognition and thanks to two PIHRA Districts for their financial support in 2009. Steve Harvey, District 14 Chair, received a Thank You letter and a Certificate of Recognition for the largest District contribution in 2009 from Bill Groenekamp, Foundation President, at the District 14 meeting on March 24.  Roger Sommer, Foundation Founder and Board member, made the presentation on behalf of the Foundation.  District 14 contributed $1,932 in 2009, which the Foundation used to help fund three college scholarships that were recently awarded to PIHRA members.

Susan Bowman, District 19 Chair, received a Thank You letter and a Certificate of Recognition for the largest District per capita contribution in 2009 from Bill Groenekamp, Foundation President, at the District 19 meeting on March 9.  Beverly Malin, PIHRA President Elect, made the presentation on behalf of the Foundation.  District 19 averaged $6.38 per member in contributions to the Foundation in 2009.

The financial support provided by all of the PIHRA Districts help to fund the Foundation’s workforce readiness initiatives, which include the awarding of college scholarships to deserving Human Resource majors as well as underwriting the costs associated with workforce readiness events and the publications, You and Your First Job and You and Your Next Job.

The Foundation needs to raise $20,000 in 2010 to further support the workforce readiness initiatives and welcomes support from all Districts and District members throughout 2010. Will Districts 14 and 19 be the top contributors this year or will your District step up and challenge them?
